Vehicle Description Released In Fatal CatCity Hit-And-Run Crash

A female cyclist was struck and killed last month, but the driver who hit her fled. Now police know the type of vehicle that was involved.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — Cathedral City police Tuesday released a description of a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 31-year-old bicyclist dead.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. May 8 in the area of Ramon Road and Landau Boulevard, police said. The bike rider, described only as a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, but the driver who struck her fled, according to Sgt. Mark Robles of the Cathedral City Police Department.

On Tuesday, police said investigators are searching for a 2014-2019 dark colored Nissan Versa with major front-end damage. Police released a photo of a similar vehicle and urged anyone with information to contact investigators. (See the photo above.)
