The arrests comes as Los Angeles County authorities attempt to crackdown on events related to street takeovers and racing.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said earlier this month that they'd be working with law enforcement officials to address the "dangerous and sometimes deadly" spectacle.

“Street takeovers often lure young people looking for a thrill or to be entertained,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement earlier this month. “But these reckless stunts are terrorizing our local communities, sometimes leading to death and often leading to looting, vandalism and other crimes."

People who are arrested for participating in the street takeovers, whether tis taking part with the vehicles or spectating are subject to being arrested, according to authorities.

Those that are arrested may fcae misdemeanor charges such as reckless driving or speed exhibition. Being convicted of either crime can result in up to 90 days in county jail and/or a $1,000 fine, according to county officials. Spectators, meanwhile, may face up to 180 days in jail and/or a $500 fine, authorities said.
