A Holiday Wish List for Rolling Hills Estates

Holiday gifts for the City of Rolling Hills Estates might not fit into colorful packages packed underneath a tree, but as the city heads into the new year, its mayor has some wishes for the community.

"Successful operation of the city's stables by the new concessionaire"

The Rolling Hills Estates City Council Gil and Doreen Houle to take over as concessionaires of . The council felt the Houles would provide the best community atmosphere at Peter Weber.

"I found my priorities are certainly aligned with the community and wanting a community barn," Seamans said during the September meeting.

The vote rejected candidate Scott Hill, whose tentative plans to not rehire current employees if chosen, in addition to his work schedule as a contractor outside the barn, left some council members uneasy about his role as concessionaire.

"Continued offering of skateboarding opportunities at Ernie Howlett Park"

In August, a “Skate the Hill” skateboarding event at Ernie Howlett Park to give residents a firsthand look at what it might be like to have a skate park on the Peninsula.

Rancho Palos Verdes is currently working with consultant Mia Lehrer & Associates to look into location possibilities and analysis for both on The Hill.

"Continued reduction of energy use in our city, control of water runoff and conservation of H20"

The city has already enacted water conservation measures for residents and businesses to follow. These include mandates that water fountains must use re-circulated or recycled water, and restaurants can only serve water upon request.

Rolling Hills Estates also has a "Greener Path" plan to promote environmental protection.

Finally, Seamans wished for "increased sales tax revenues and a prosperous New Year to all of our businesses and residents."
