Updated: Abducted 5-Year-Old Boy Found, Returned to RPV
A 5-year-old boy missing for two years was recently found in New Orleans and returned home to his grandparents in RPV this weekend.
A 5-year-old boy from Rancho Palos Verdes who was allegedly abducted in 2009 was returned to his grandparents in Rancho Palos Verdes this weekend after being found in New Orleans, authorities reported.
Shalomiel Sol-El was in his grandparents' custody two years ago when his father, Ausar Allah-El, and mother, Serenity Sol-El, allegedly abducted their son during a court-appointed visitation on April 25, 2009, at a child care center in Carson, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's reports.
The boy was found in New Orleans on Friday, sheriff's officials said. He was "extremely malnourished" and weighed 38 pounds, according to sheriff's reports.

Shalomiel's parents had been in New Orleans for at least one year, according to investigators, and might not have been living together.
"They were apparently still in contact," said Capt. Mike Parker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The boy was found during a traffic stop on the edge of the city. In the car, police found the boy, his mother, her acquaintance and the family of the acquaintance, Parker said.
The boy and his mother had been living just above homelessness, Parker said, and were staying for weeks at a time with various friends and acquaintances.
His parents no longer had custody of the boy, who reportedly has various medical conditions. According to sheriff's reports, Shalomiel's parents did not provide access for him to proper medical care, such as medical appointments and dental exams.
Shalomiel and his parents seemed to have vanished until a National Park Services police officer in New Orleans found Allah-El panhandling at Louis Armstrong Park on his patrol route, sheriff's officials said.
Allah-El was arrested Feb. 20 once police realized he was wanted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on suspicion of child abduction. According to Sheriff's Department reports, Allah-El told police his wife and child were in New Orleans.
Serenity Sol-El was found March 4 in New Orleans and arrested on suspicion of abducting her son, authorities said.
After flying to New Orleans to take custody of Shalomiel, officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services returned the boy to his grandparents late Saturday evening.
"Shalomiel has made the trip from New Orleans back to Rancho Palos Verdes, and has been returned to the custody of his maternal grandparents," Deputy U.S. Marshal David Dominguez said in a statement. "He is beginning to adjust to living in a normal environment.
"Doctors say that although the recovery process will take a while, Shalomiel should thrive with the proper medical attention," Dominguez said. "Shalomiel is already scheduled to attend school and is getting his appetite back."
Suspects Allah-El and Sol-El reportedly are in custody in New Orleans on charges related to the alleged child abduction, with bail set at $100,000.
Sheriff's investigators reportedly are seeking extradition to Los Angeles County.
