Award-Winning Burger Chain To Open Fourth South Bay Location: 'Flavor You Can Taste In Every Bite'

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — A new Habit Burger & Grill restaurant is opening in Rancho Palos Verdes, marking the company's fourth South Bay location.

"We’ve been expanding quickly across the country, but opening in a place that shares our love of fresh ingredients, laid-back California vibes, and quality food made to order? That’s what makes it special," Habit Burger & Grill's Director of Culinary Innovation, Jason Triail told Patch. "Rancho Palos Verdes has incredible scenery and a strong sense of community; it just felt like the right move for us."

The grand opening for the new location is set for Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 29135 S. Western Dr. CharClub members, however, can get a special preview of the new location by signing up for a VIP invitation.

The first 200 VIP guests who show up from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 9 will receive a free charburger, fries and a drink, according to the company. On Aug. 11 and 12, those with a VIP invitation will receive a free chargilled meal from the pre-set menu.

Habit Burger & Grill opened its first location in Santa Barbara in 1969 and has since won several awards, including being named USA Today's No. 1 Fast Casual Restaurant. The restaurant is known for its flavorful meals, which include chargrilled burgers, stacked sandwiches and salads.

"What really sets us apart is our chef-driven approach. We're constantly innovating in the kitchen, bringing bold new ideas to life while staying true to the quality and care we’ve been known for since 1969," Triail said. "Everything is made-to-order, with fresh ingredients and flavor you can taste in every bite."

The Rancho Palos Verdes location will have the same core menu that's at the several hundred other restaurants. But, the new location will put a special emphasis on an Oreo Cookie shake that, according to Triail, will make customers feel "right at home."

"It's the perfect treat after a hike or beach day," Triail said. "While there aren’t location-exclusive items just yet, our menu brings plenty of California-inspired flavor that fits right in with the Rancho Palos Verdes lifestyle."

That includes fan favorites such as the Santa Barbara Char, a sandwich stacked with fresh avocado and caramelized onions on a grilled sourdough bread, the Double Charburger, which has been named the No. 1 burger by USA Today for the last two years, fresh marinated chicken and sushi-grade ahi.

"When it comes to flavor, freshness, and chargrilled quality, Habit delivers," Triail said.

Habit opens Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
