Body Found At Base Of Palos Verdes Cliff: Report

The body was the second found at the bottom of the cliff in the last two months.

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — A man was found dead at the base of the Palos Verdes Estates cliffs on Thursday, in the same area where another body was found two months ago, according to a report.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department responded to a call from a person who saw a man lying face down at the base of the cliff, close to the 1400 block of Paseo Del Mar, just after noon on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has not yet been identified nor has his cause of death been determined, the Times reported.

In August, another man was found dead in the same area along the shoreline. The Times reported that the Los Angeles County medical examiner had one record of an Aug. 30 fatality at a cliff — Donald Walker, 47 — whose cause of death was ruled accidental due to blunt force injuries.

In 2022, one man was killed and three others were injured when they fell about 300 feet from the cliff in what was described as an accident.

In June, authorities announced they had identified several sets of human remains that washed ashore in Palos Verdes over the last few years.
