Borders Plans to Close Nearby Store
The book retailer expects to close location in Rolling Hills Estates.

Plans to close nearly one third of Borders Group stores will impact one location in Rolling Hills Estates.
The store at 550 Deep Valley Drive is set to close, in addition to 200 others nationwide, according to a court filing in Border's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.
Nationwide, the company has 659 stores.

In a statement, the nation's second-largest book-retailer said moves were being made, "in light of the environment of curtailed customer spending, our ongoing discussions with publishers and other vendor related parties, and the company's lack of liquidity."
Other stores planned to close include three in the city of Los Angeles and stores in other parts of the Southland, including Orange County.

Three Los Angles outlets are among the Southland stores the company's bankruptcy filing listed for closure: at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Los Angeles; 6081 Center Drive in Westchester and 14651 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks.
Additional Los Angeles County stores on the list of closures are in Long Beach, Glendale, Cerritos, Pasadena, Valencia, and Pico Rivera.
In Orange County, stores would be closed in Orange, Yorba Linda and Tustin.
