'Build A Strong Foundation': Softball Camp Coming To South Bay City

A D2 All-American Athlete will be helping with the camp, according to officials.

PALOS VERDES, CA — Registration is now open for a softball camp coming to the South Bay in mid-August.

The softball camp will take place at Ryan Park in Rancho Palos Verdes from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 15 through 17, according to city officials.

"This camp is designed for players ages 9–14 who are eager to build a strong foundation in softball and prepare for the next level," Rancho Palos Verdes officials said in a statement Thursday. "With a focus on fundamentals, campers will develop key skills in fielding, baserunning, and hitting through a variety of competitive games and drill stations."

The camp is made up of recreation staff and volunteers, including D2 All-American softball player Jordan Krause.

Krause, who is from San Pedro, last played college softball at Bentley University, where she is the all-time leader in homeruns (23), hits (224), runs (127), doubles (51) and runs batted in (109).

"This camp aims to build confidence in each athlete by improving technique and game knowledge while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment," city officials said. "Campers will have positive experiences with coaching staff and fellow players that emphasize teamwork, player safety, and maintaining a great attitude both on and off the field."
