Car Crashes Into Roof, Destroys Rancho Palos Verdes Home: Report
A car lost control driving down a hill and smashed into the roof of a Rancho Palos Verdes home Monday night, reports say.
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — A car driving down a hill smashed into the roof of a home in Rancho Palos Verdes Sunday night, according to reports.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the crash just before 6 p.m. in the 28036 Santona Drive. The elderly female driver was trapped inside the car and needed to be rescued, according to KTLA.
The crash busted a hole in the roof during the crash, scattering pieces of the home around the room where it landed. Homeowner Joann Killeen, who was home at the time, told KTLA that it sounded like the whole house exploded.

Fire Department officials told the Los Angeles Times the driver lost control of her vehicle on a nearby embankment and was rushed to the hospital after she was freed. She sustained minor injuries in the crash, officials said.
No additional people were injured in the crash and no arrests were made.
