Convicted Sex Offender Was Still Serving On A Palos Verdes Peninsula Park and Rec Board

Arnold Serkin resigned when a local newspaper started questioning why he was still on the board despite his conviction last February.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA -- A convicted sex offender, until Monday, was still serving on a Palos Verdes Peninsula recreation and parks district board, according to the Daily Breeze.

Arnold Serkin, a Torrance podiatrist convicted in February 2016 of four sex offense felonies against female patients, was still serving on the Ridgecrest Ranchos Recreation and Park District board of directors until the Daily Breeze started asking questions last week.

According to the Daily Breeze, Serkin, a Rancho Palos Verdes resident, informed the board president he was resigning on Monday.

One of Serkin's female patients recently filed a civil lawsuit against him, according to the Daily Breeze.
