Graves, Markers Sinking at Historic Wilmington Cemetery Because of Rain
Efforts to shore up the collapsing soil are expected to take several days.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- The surge of rain storms lately in Southern California are not only causing troubles for homeowners, they are also causing troubles for the 160-year-old Wilmington Cemetery.
Some graves and markers are sinking into the saturated ground, according to the Daily Breeze. The rainwater ha caused the underground soil surrounding the graves to erode, the Daily Breeze reported.
More rain is expected this weekend, but so far no vaults or caskets have been exposed, John Resich, chairman of the board at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, told the Daily Breeze. He is helping to oversee the repairs.
