How to Shred in Rancho Palos Verdes (Not on Waves)
Safely dispose of personal documents.

From the city of Rancho Palos Verdes:
EDCO and the city of Rancho Palos Verdes are sponsoring a free shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (a new earlier time) at the RPV Civic Center (City Hall Parking lot) located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd.
This free event is the perfect opportunity for Rancho Palos Verdes residents to safely dispose of personal documents. During this event, certified document shredding trucks will be on-site to shred your documents on-site.

Acceptable items include: payroll stubs, credit card and bank statements, credit applications, background checks, tax documents, legal documents, mortgage and escrow documents, or any type of confidential information.
You do not need to remove paper clips, staples, or bindings from your documents. However, if you items are in three-ring binder, please remove them from the binder.

There is a limit of three bankers boxes (10”x12”x15”) per household. Paper in bags will also be accepted. This event is for residential customers of EDCO and UWS only. Proof of residency in RPV will be required (CDL or utility bill, etc).
During the same time, day, and location, EDCO will also collect obsolete or unwanted electronics (TV, computers, monitors, cellular phones, fax machines, printers, etc) from residents.
However, absolutely no hazardous waste material (no paint, no batteries).
Furthermore, free mulch will be available at that time for self-load/self-haul/self-serve (while supplies last). Bring your trash cans (up to 3) and a shovel. If you have an open truck or trailer, please bring a tarp to cover your material.

There will be a special event day traffic control plan in the vicinity of the Civic Center. Please drive carefully and observe all traffic signs.
