Letter: Protect Yourself—Buy a Gun

Editor's note: This letter was submitted in response to the article 3 Held Captive in RPV Home Invasion.

What the residents of Palos Verdes—and of every city in Los Angeles should do—is buy a gun and learn how to shoot it. I did! Eighteen years ago—when I was a single lady moving into a new house. I have never felt safer.

Of course, you need to make the time to take handgun lessons so that you are safe. I learned at American Defense Enterprises, which is located in Los Angeles, less than a 30 minute drive from our beloved Palos Verdes Peninsula.

I have heard that there are more than 250,000 gang members in L.A. that the police know about! That is horrifying!
