Monday Essentials: Welcome to December!

Here's what to look forward to this week in Palos Verdes.

Happy Monday! Here are five things Palos Verdes residents should know this week:

  1. The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hesse Park Community Room.
  2. The Peninsula Center Library will host its first holiday concert Wednesday at noon. This concert will feature the L.A. Flute and Harp Duo.
  3. Rolling Hills Estates will host its annual Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights on Saturday evening.
  4. Today is Cyber Monday, and Patch wishes you luck with your online shopping. By some estimates, we’ll collectively spend $1.8 billion today. Remember to protect your security with strong passwords and be careful what you click on. The Center for Internet Security offers more security tips.
  5. Save some of your money for #GivingTuesday, a national effort by the United Nations Foundation and the 92d Street Y in New York City. Donate to the charity of your choice. It may be your most important gift of the season.
What else is going on this week that your neighbors should know about? Tell us in the comments.
