Local gas prices crept up again this week by about two cents. That puts gas at most local stations at just about $4 a gallon, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.987 per gallon. That's 1.6 cents more than last week, 38 cents higher than last month, and 90 cents higher than last year.
“Although gas prices barely moved in the past week, the oil and wholesale gasoline market remain volatile amid concerns about world unrest and disasters, so it’s hard to say whether the pump price increases are coming to an end,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring.
