Update: Multi-Vehicle Accident Closes Road in Palos Verdes

Hawthorne Boulevard is now open in both directions between Silver Spur Road and Palos Verdes Drive North.

A major road is closed in Palos Verdes this morning after a multi-vehicle accident near Hawthorne Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive North downed a power line in the area.

The responded to the accident involving a delivery truck, minivan and three other cars about 8 a.m. this morning Lomita Station authorities said. Only minor injuries were reported.

Southern California Edison crews are still at the scene working to clear the downed power line. Hawthorne Boulevard will remain closed in both directions between Silver Spur Road and Palos Verdes Drive North until Edison crews repair the line, Lomita Station authorities said. The City of Rancho Palos Verdes estimated the road will reopen about 5:30 p.m.
