Palos Verdes Beaches Remain Among L.A.'s Healthiest
Beaches in Palos Verdes are graded by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
Palos Verdes beaches received some of the highest marks in the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's most recent round of grading.
The 30-day grades are a reflection of water quality samples taken over the past month. Beaches graded "C" or below are considered too unhealthy to be used by beachgoers. The most recent marks were released May 3.
Arroyo Circle extended, Malaga Cove, Bluff Cove, Long Point, Abalone Cove and Portuguese Bend all earned "A" grades.

Last month, some of the worst grades were recorded in nearby Redondo Beach, where one beach received an "F" and three other county beaches earned "C" grades. The department's recent report shows dramatically improved grades for some of those beaches.
Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro held onto an "F" grade, and Avalon Beach 50 feet west of the Green Pleasure Pier also earned the grade this month.
