Palos Verdes Crime: Arrests, Incidents July 8-14

A look at recent crimes and arrests on the Palos Verdes Peninsula compiled from July 8-14 reports:

Rancho Palos Verdes

ARRESTS

One domestic violence arrest and one vehicle laws arrest.

INCIDENTS

Grand theft: 2 p.m. July 6 to 8:30 a.m. July 9, 6400 block of Via De Anzar. Unknown method of entry. A generator, chainsaw, leaf blower, weed whacker, shovels and sheers were reported stolen from a vacant rental property.

Vehicle burglary:

• 11 p.m. July 11 to noon July 12, Peacock Ridge Road and Via La Cima. Someone smashed one of the car's windows and took the car battery.
• 6 p.m. July 14 to 5:30 a.m. July 15, 6500 block of Via Siena. Unknown method of entry. A wallet, CDL and gas card were reported stolen.

Commercial burglary: 10 p.m. July 12 to 5:45 a.m. July 13, 28900 block of Western Avenue. Someone smashed the front glass door. The loss was unknown at the time of the report.

Residential burglary: Noon to 2:15 p.m. July 13, 6900 block of Abbottswood Drive. Someone tore a window screen. A purse and spa gift certificate were reported stolen.

Residential burglary: 11:53 a.m. July 9, 30 block of Shady Vista Road. Someone posed as a landscaper and walked with the resident to her backyard to discuss tree trimming. The suspect abruptly left and was seen running down the street with another suspect. A diamond ring, women's watch and $200 in currency were reported stolen.

Vehicle burglary:

• 9:25 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. July 9, 500 block of Deep Valley Drive. Unknown method of entry. An iPad, makeup bag, lunch bag and a shopping bag were reported stolen.
• 12:15-5 p.m. July 12, 500 block of Deep Valley Drive. The driver's side door was forced open. Leather loafers and sandals were reported stolen.
• 5:30-8 p.m. July 13, 27100 block of Silver Spur Road. The passenger side window was smashed. A purse, CDL, gift certificates and $40 in currency was reported stolen.
• 7:20-8 p.m. July 13, 27100 block of Silver Spur Road. The driver's side window was smashed. A wallet, CDL and $60 in currency was reported stolen.
