Family Seeks Return of PV High Football Bag

The bag was stolen Saturday from a vehicle parked on Navajo Place in Palos Verdes Estates.

A family is offering a $100 reward for the return of a Palos Verdes High School athlete's bag of football gear, which was stolen Saturday night from a possibly unlocked car on Navajo Place in Palos Verdes Estates, according to an email forwarded by the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.

Thieves stole items from multiple vehicles in the area that Saturday evening during a PVHS Halloween fundraiser party, according to the writer of the email, Anne Martz.

The bag—described as large and black, with Bru McCoy No. 5 on it—contained a helmet, pads, cleats and a No. 5 red jersey, Martz said. Though most of the items can be replaced, the family paid a $500 for other equipment, including the jersey.

"The bag is full of smelly gear," Martz wrote. "I am almost certain it was dumped somewhere once they realized it was worth nothing."

Martz believes the bag was probably left on one of the walking and/or equestrian trails near the neighborhood.
