Palos Verdes Native Crowned Miss California USA

Natalie Ann Pack earned the title Sunday in Palm Desert.

A Palos Verdes native and self-described tomboy was crowned the new Miss California USA on Sunday in her first-ever pageant.

Natalie Ann Pack, 22, was born in Palos Verdes and now lives in Newport Beach, according to a Newport Beach Patch report.

Pack, a junior at UC Irvine, has plans to attend medical school. She entered the competition as "Miss Hoag Hospital" because of her work at the Orange County center as an intern.
