Palos Verdes Peninsula Flood Watch: Where To Pick Up Sandbags
The year's biggest storm is expected to bring flooding conditions on the Palos Verdes peninsula, forecasters warned.
PALOS VERDES, CA — The National Weather Service issued a flood warning on the Palos Verdes peninsula as the year's biggest rainstorm drenches the Southland this week.
The storm is expected to bring 1.5 to 3 inches of rain across Los Angeles County, with 3 to 6 inches expected in the mountains. Flood watch will remain in effect through late Thursday night.
"A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation," the weather service said in a statement. "Local emergency services are monitoring the situation and will issue a public statement as conditions warrant. Plan now so you will know what to do in an emergency."
