Pedestrian Struck And Killed In Palos Verdes Peninsula

An investigation is underway.

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed Thursday morning in Rolling Hills Estates, authorities said.

The fatal crash happened in the westbound lanes of Palos Verdes Drive North, between Dapplegray School entrance and Rolling Hills Road, which was closed to traffic during the investigation about 5:45 a.m., city officials said. The road was reopened shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The pedestrian, a man whose name was not immediately released, sustained fatal injuries.

An investigation was underway at the crash location. No further details were immediately released.

Frank V. Zerunyan, Mayor of Rolling Hills Estates, released a statement:

"On behalf of my colleagues on the City Council, I offer our deepest condolences to his family," Zerunyan said. "The Sheriff Department will provide more information about this tragic accident when it becomes available.”
