Police Search For Woman Who Attempted To Carjack 81-Year-Old Man

Los Angeles police are asking the public to help identify an attempted carjacking suspect.

SAN PEDRO, CA — Los Angeles police Thursday asked the public to help with any information leading to the identification and arrest of an attempted carjacking suspect who attacked an 81-year-old man outside his San Pedro home.

A woman attacked an 81-year-old man about 2:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 1300 block of West 214th Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Harbor Area detectives.

The victim was parking his truck in front of his house when the suspect knocked him to the ground, took his keys, and attempted to take the vehicle, police said.

The victim used a "kill switch" on the vehicle, which stopped the vehicle from being taken, police said.

The suspect then ran away from the area.

She is described as a white woman with blonde hair. She is about 5 feet 1 inches to 5 feet and inches 3”, 140 to 150 pounds, and 20 to 30 years of age.

The victim only suffered minor injuries from the attack.
