A history of efforts to push people out of local waves was recently highlighted in on Palos Verdes Patch, which led to a discussion about whether "surfing localism" was a real problem in Palos Verdes.
Some readers strongly agreed that localism was indeed an issue in parts of PV, while others questioned whether aggressive attempts to control who surfed on local beaches was a reality.
Reader said, "We've got 2 preteens who surf ... Perhaps someday soon they'll get to surf [Lunada Bay] without being hassled."
