PV Named in Country’s 50 Richest Zip Codes
Businessweek.com lists the 50 richest areas in the U.S., with the Palos Verdes Peninsula coming in at No. 31.

Keeping up with the Joneses in Palos Verdes might be difficult even for households that are better off than most, Businessweek.com warns in its release of the 50 richest areas in the country, in which the Palos Verdes Peninsula comes in at No. 31.
Little Rock data company Gadberry Group considered U.S. zip codes with more than 100 households, which were then ranked by the average income and net worth of their households, the article said.
The 10,012 households within zip code 90274 on the Peninsula had an average household income of $219,642 and average household net worth of $1,464,162, according to the report.

"The rolling, green hills of the Palos Verdes Peninsula are a natural place for elite couples and singles of the greater Los Angeles area. It has gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean and larger lots with homes along curling roads and quiet cul-de-sacs," according to the Businessweek.com article.
Areas around Silicon Valley, Washington, DC and New York were on the list, however, wealthier neighborhoods in places like Manhattan and San Francisco some might have expected to earn top spots "did not make the list because they have a greater diversity of income earners," according to the report.

Palm Beach, FL was named the richest zip code, with an average household income of $370,136 and average household net worth of $1,486,123. Beverly Hills came in at No. 4 and the Bel Air zip code at No. 6.
