The 12-pound dog, named Teddy Altogether Mountain Splendor, did not make it to the finals but was awarded the Award of Merit medallion.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA -- A Rancho Palos Verdes silky terrier who competed in the exclusive Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this year was awarded a merit award, according to the Daily Breeze.
The 12-pound dog, named Teddy Altogether Mountain Splendor, did not make it to the finals but was awarded the Award of Merit medallion in the breed competition. The award was an optional award that judges can bestow on dogs they think show exceptional promise, according to the Daily Breeze.
Teddy's owner Suzanne Detwiler said the three-year-old dog still has some competitions left in him, despite not winning.
