Rancho Palos Verdes Ranks Among Top 10 Safest Cities In CA

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Online security review website SafeWise released its ranking of the Top 50 Safest Cities in California for 2022 this month, and Rancho Palos Verdes was ranked the ninth safest city in the state.

To determine how Rancho Palos Verdes became one of the safest cities in the Golden State, SafeWise looked at FBI crime statistics and demographic information for each city in California, the company said.

"The 'safest' cities rankings are intended to highlight cities with low crime rates and ignite conversation and action around how to make all cities and communities safer," SafeWise said on its website.

Several Southern California communities made the list. The statewide list ranked Northern California city Danville no. 1, followed by SoCal towns Rancho Santa Margarita and Moorpark.

4. Aliso Viejo
5. Yorba Linda
6. Laguna Niguel
7. Poway
8. Mission Viejo
9. Rancho Palos Verdes
10. Thousand Oaks

In 2021, Palos Verdes was named the fourth safest city in California.

Rancho Palos Verdes has 41,513 residents and the median household income is $138,557.
