Rancho Palos Verdes to Review Citywide Noise Ordinance
The ordinance was drafted in response to resident complaints about a variety of noises throughout the city.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA -- In response to complaints from residents last year about a variety of noises in the city, the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council draft a comprehensive Citywide Noise Ordinance last year. That ordinance is up for review at an upcoming City Council meeting.
The Council was scheduled to adopt the ordinance as an urgency matter Jan. 17 but decided to postpone to the next meeting for staff to flesh out the ordinance.
The current ordinance, as drafted, does not cite a decibel level to constitute a violation but rather left it up to the enforcing officer to determine. The ordinance does provide some exceptions, such as emergencies, alarms and other warning devices, for example.
