Ranger Hotline to Handle Reports of Preserve Misuse
A new Palos Verdes Nature Preserve hotline will handle reports of misuse on the preserve, in addition to questions and concerns from callers.

Off-leash dogs and reckless trail use are just some of the concerns expected to be handled by the new Palos Verdes Nature Preserve hotline, a 24/7 call center that will mostly handle reports of misuse on the preserve.
The hotline, which launched Monday, will route callers to an operator, who will forward concerns and questions to Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) rangers, or other appropriate agencies, such as the , California Department of Fish and Game, , or .
Other anticipated caller concerns include animals on the beach, paragliders in the preserve, homeless encampments, tampering with preserve signage, and the removal or destruction of native plants.
