RPV Crushing Gravel at City Hall
The city of Rancho Palos Verdes is preparing its overflow parking lot for the July 4 celebration.

The city of Rancho Palos Verdes has been crushing stockpiled material in the overflow parking lot at city hall this week, according to an email from RPV city staff.
The operation, which began Monday, is producing gravel to cover the parking lot.
"This crushing operation will be performed during business hours only and is anticipated to take approximately one week to process all of the material," according to staff. "The crushed material will then be spread over this parking lot, which should take no more than a few days, allowing time for preparation of the parking lot before the City's annual July 4th event."
The noise is comparable to pavement grinders used during resurfacing projects, and the city will use a dust-suppression system to keep the dust down.
