RPV Gets New Names for Coastal Points

Some coastal points in Rancho Palos Verdes will go by new names after the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council settled on names for two waterfront spots this week.

The small beach located below Founders Park, or Trump Beach, will now be called Rancho Palos Verdes Beach. Staff had recommended the name Sea Star Beach.

Council members voted with staff's recommendation to change Point Vicente Fishing Access to Pelican Cove.

New state regulations scheduled to go into effect at the start of next year will prohibit both on-shore and off-shore fishing in the cove, which led to the name-change discussions.
