Small Earthquake Shakes Peninsula
The epicenter of the magnitude-1.9 earthquake was in San Pedro near the Rancho Palos Verdes border.

A magnitude-1.9 earthquake struck on the Palos Verdes Peninsula on Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor occurred at 2:50 p.m. about 5 miles below the Earth's crust, and the epicenter was apparently just across the border in San Pedro, about 300 feet west of the intersection of 25th Street and Mermaid Drive.
Nobody reported feeling the earthquake on the USGS Community Internet Intensity Map. No damage was reported.
