South Bay Chefs to Serve as Cook-Off 'Celebrity Judges'
The chefs will help choose the best pie, cupcake, chili and grilled cheese sandwich at the annual Palos Verdes Street Fair.

Chefs from across the South Bay will act as "celebrity judges" during this year's where they'll help crown the best cupcake, pie, chili and grilled cheese sandwich in town.
The food events, which will also include a pie-eating contest, are a new addition to the festival, now in its 25th year. Here's a look at the lineup of chefs scheduled to attend:
- Thomas Ortega, from Ortega 120 Restaurant and Cantina in Redondo Beach, will judge the grilled cheese sandwich cook-off noon to 1:45 p.m. June 9.
- Orlando Novoa, from American Farmhouse Tavern and Dining Hall in Manhattan Beach, will judge the "Best of PV Pie" competition 2-3 p.m. June 9.
- Kara Mickelson, veteran of seasons one and two of the Food Network’s "Cupcake Wars," will judge the "Best of PV Cupcake" competition 4-5 p.m. June 9.
- Robert Bell, from Chez Melange in Redondo Beach and in Rolling Hills Estates, will judge the chili cook-off 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 10.
