Patch asked readers for their ultimate California bucket list guide for Golden State visitors. Here's how you answered!

PALOS VERDES, CA — What makes you most inspired and curious about living in the Golden State?

In a recent Facebook survey, Patch asked: "If you were making the ultimate California Bucket List, what would be on it?" Our readers were more than happy to share the good, the bad, and the ugly about our beautiful state.

Mary Haessig in Redondo Beach suggests that Yosemite is the next adventure to make the list. And Arik Kadosh in Culver City agrees — adding that it's a must-see for all Californians or anyone visiting the state.

Rachel Vielbig Hayes in Hermosa Beach adds that a hike to the top of El Capitan Trail at Yosemite should be part of the list. Barbara Molino from Palos Verdes mentioned she wants to spend a couple of nights at the Ahwahnee, a tranquil resort located at the national park.

Barbara Jarvis in the South Bay says that one spot and activity that can't be missed is having a martini at the Top of the Mark in San Francisco. The destination has been part of the city for eight decades and it's located at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco, an IHG Hotel. The views are unlike anything else in the iconic city.

Karen Lovett Hodges shares a top destination: the Redwoods and Monterey. The legendary drive includes stops at parks, hikes and the most dreamy, coastal views. Judy Koffroth recommends the drive toward Oregon along the picturesque coast.

And if you're looking to head south and explore, Tricia Todora Grove recommends eating at Captain Jack’s in Sunset Beach. The restaurant is located off Highway 1 and is known for its crab legs, seafood and prime rib.
