Suspect In Series Of Sexual Assaults In The South Bay Arrested: Police
Police say the man is suspected of grabbing and restraining multiple people in San Pedro over the weekend.

SAN PEDRO, CA — Police say they've arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting multiple people in the South Bay over the weekend.
The man, who police identified as 27-year-old David Ramirez, is accused of grabbing and restraining multiple people who were either walking on the sidewalk or were inside a store in San Pedro on the weekend of Aug. 16. The victims, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, were females between the ages of 13 and 42.
On Monday, Ramirez approached a woman from behind in the area of Sixth Street and Pacific Avenue, restrained her and then sexually assaulted her, according to police. With the help of community members, the victim tracked the suspect to a nearby apartment complex a couple of blocks away from where the crime occurred, police said.

Officers and detectives responded to the scene and took Ramirez into custody on suspicion of sexual battery. He's currently being held with no bail as detectives continue to investigate whether Ramirez assaulted other people, police said.
The LAPD asks that anyone who believes they may have been assaulted by Ramirez contact the department.
