Warm Weather to Continue Through Wednesday

Temperatures in Palos Verdes are predicted to be in the low 70s for Tuesday and mid-60s for the rest of the week.

Despite the beautiful weather outside, the Palos Verdes Peninsula is under a hazardous weather outlook, according to a special weather statement posted on Weather.gov.

A strong, upper-level high-pressure system is bringing the hot weather to the Southland, and with it may come gale-force winds in the outer waters and local, dense fog, according to meteorologists with the National Weather Service.

"Gale-force winds will create a hazardous sailing environment for seafarers in the outer waters," according to forecasters.

Redondo Beach residents were warned of dense fog on Sunday, and according to some, the thick, June-gloom-like conditions didn't ease until late afternoon.

Isolated red-flag warnings—signifying fire danger—are also expected in Southern California.

As of 2:45 p.m., the NWS reported temperatures of 82 degrees on the Peninsula; however, the area is expected to see highs near the mid-70s through Wednesday.

By Wednesday, there will be a gradual cooling trend that will continue through Saturday, when temperatures are expected to be in the high-60s on the Hill.

"As of now, if you're outside, stay in the shade, drinking plenty of fluids like water," David Sweet of the NWS said. "If you can go indoors where there is air conditioning, even better."
