2 Killed in Wednesday Morning Crash in Pasadena ID'd

The driver, Reynaldo Chilel-Ramirez, 23, died at a hospital, and the front passenger, 17-year-old Adelso Chilel-Lopez, died at the scene.

PASADENA, CA - Authorities on Thursday identified two people killed in a collision between a Ford Mustang and an SUV in Pasadena.

The crash happened about 7 a.m. Wednesday at Lake Avenue and East Villa Street, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.

According to police, the 2003 Mustang, which caromed into a utility pole after colliding with the SUV, was occupied by three men and a teenage boy, all from Pasadena.

The 23-year-old driver, Reynaldo Chilel-Ramirez, died at a hospital, and the front passenger, 17-year-old Adelso Chilel-Lopez, died at the scene, according to police and the coroner's office. The rear-seat passengers, ages 22 and 27, were hospitalized with moderate injuries, police said.

A 46-year-old Los Angeles woman who was driving a 2006 Kia Sorrento SUV suffered a minor injury. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
