California Young Artists Symphony Presents Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42, Sibelius 4, and Strauss’ Macbeth

California Young Artists Symphony Presents Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42, Sibelius 4, and Strauss’ Macbeth

The California Young Artists Symphony presents the closing capstone concert of its fifth season with an

unforgettable evening of music at the beautiful Rothenberg Hall at The Huntington, Pasadena.

The program opens with Mendelssohn’s “Psalm 42” for choir and orchestra, with singers from the Conejo

Valley Choral Society. The centerpiece of the program is Sibelius’ dark and introspective 4th Symphony, written

in a time of great turmoil in his life as he faced mortality. The program closes as our season began, with a

virtuosic and explosive tone poem by Strauss, “Macbeth.”

The program is lead by Maestro Alexander Tseitlin (CYAS, Lyceum Oaks). An accomplished performer,

interpreter, and conductor, Alexander’s work is known worldwide throughout the United States and Europe.

CYAS was launched in the fall of 2021 to the acclaim of audiences and artists nationwide. With musicians from

institutions such as the Colburn Conservatory, the Thornton School of Music at USC, and the Herb Alpert

School at UCLA (among many others), CYAS forms an electrifying ensemble rich in energy and expression.

Concerts are a unique experience for musicians and audiences alike.

Join us for a heartfelt presentation of some of the most exquisite music in all of music literature. Tickets on
