Pasadena High Expected to Appoint Anthony Brooks as Basketball Head Coach

It is likely the assistant coach will succeed former head coach Tim Tucker.

Anthony Brooks, the 22-year assistant basketball coach at Pasadena High School, is expected to take over the vacant head coaching position left open by Tim Tucker.

Backed by school administrators, Brooks’ appointment as the Bulldogs’ new head coach only needs final approval from the Pasadena District Board of Trustees, according to the Pasadena Sun.

Pasadena Principal Gilbert Barraza, Jr. told The Sun that Brooks was one of two finalists, the other former Muir Coach Idris Jones.

Brooks told The Sun:

“Pasadena High School has one of the biggest basketball traditions and in some ways is unmatched. How many schools can say they’ve had five coaches over the last 50 years? We can say that and I’m humbled to be part of the legacy.”
