Pasadena Police Focuses On Youth For Child Passenger Safety Week
Child Passenger Safety Week will be from Sept. 19 to 25, and Pasadena police want to ensure children are in the right safety seat.
PASADENA, CA — The Pasadena Police Department wants to help parents make sure their child is in the proper car seat as part of Child Passenger Safety Week, which will occur Sept. 19 to 25.
The education campaign will focus on educating parents and caregivers on choosing and installing the appropriate seat for the child’s age and height, the department said in a statement.
“Your plate is always full as a parent, but the goal for this week is to remind parents and caregivers to take the time to make sure children are as safe as possible in the car,” Pasadena police Cmdr. Mark Goodsman said.

State law requires children be placed in a properly secured safety seat until they’re at least 8-years-old, Goodsman said. Children 8 and older that are at least 4 feet 9 inches tall can ride in the back seat of a vehicle without the need of a booster.
