Pasadena Sex Predator Dies Before Release Hearing
Convicted rapist Carnot Lyles, 56, petitioned for conditional release due to his declining health.

Carnot “No No” Lyles, 56, one of the first men committed to a state hospital under the 1996 Sexually Violent Predator law, died of terminal cancer over the weekend before his scheduled release hearing.
Authorities considered releasing Lyles, who was convicted of raping a Pasadena woman in front of her family and later sexually molesting a 9-year-old girl, because of his terminal cancer, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
His hearing was rescheduled from last Friday to this Friday because attorneys said they needed more time to gather witnesses.
