Who's Been Dumping Pregnant Dogs in Pasadena?
The Humane Society is asking the public to be on the look out. Three pregnant Border Collies were picked up from the streets in two weeks.

PASADENA, CA - Three pregnant border collies were found in the past two weeks roaming the streets of Pasadena, and local animal-care officials asked the public Friday to be on the lookout for anyone who might be dumping dogs or other animals.
According to the Pasadena Humane Society, the collies were rescued before falling victim to any harm. Since being rescued, the dogs gave birth to a total of 14 puppies. One of the collies gave birth within a day of being brought to the Humane Society, officials said.
All of the dogs have been placed with foster families that will care for them until their puppies are old enough to be put up for adoption.

Humane Society officials said they are concerned there may be one person responsible for dumping the animals. They noted that animal-dumping is a common occurrence, but it is unusual to find three pregnant animals of the same breed in close proximity.
Dumping a dog is a misdemeanor offense, but animal-care officials said dumping them can be dangerous for the animals, and potentially for people if the dogs become aggressive due to a lack of food, shelter and water.
