PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Police Department and Petaluma Fire Department notified the public that emergency response training is scheduled to take place Friday and Tuesday, July 14 and July 18, at Petaluma Junior High School.

Surrounding residences may see police cars, fire trucks and ambulances during the training, which is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Friday and Tuesday. There may also be emergency vehicles from neighboring agencies who are participating in the training.

Neighboring residents may hear occasional sounds of blank firing weapons or explosions. These are diversionary devices used to create "flashbangs"; there will be no live ammunition used during the training, police said.
