2 North Bay Deaths Caused By Storm
A 2-year-old Sonoma County boy and a 19-year-old Solano County woman died Wednesday in separate storm-related incidents, authorities said.
NORTH BAY, CA —A 2-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman died Wednesday in storm-related incidents on separate ends of the North San Francisco Bay Area as an atmospheric river pummeled Northern California with yet more rain and high winds.
The first storm-related death was reported at 8:39 a.m. Wednesday in the Solano County city of Fairfield. Dispatchers received reports of a single-vehicle collision on Vanden Road at One Lake; upon arrival, officers found a 19-year-old Fairfield woman dead from injuries suffered in the crash.
According to witness statements and evidence gleaned by investigators at the scene, Vanden Road was partially flooded from the heavy rains as the victim traveled eastbound on the roadway and encountered a patch of standing water. Her car hydroplaned and she lost control of it before colliding with a utility pole.

"Unfortunately, speed unsafe for conditions was likely the primary reason for the collision, with water on the road being a contributing factor," Fairfield police said.
The victim's name was not being released by the Fairfield Police Department in consideration of her family members.

Authorities Identify 2-Year-Old Sonoma County Boy Killed By Large Tree
The second fatal storm-related incident Wednesday in the North Bay was reported at 5:14 p.m. in the 2800 block of Joy Road in Occidental — a heavily wooded area of western Sonoma County.
A large redwood tree fell onto a mobile home and landed on a 2-year-old boy who was sitting on the couch, Sonoma County sheriff's Sgt. Juan Valencia said.
The boy's distraught father and a neighbor pulled the boy out of the residence and paramedics and fire personnel attempted to revive the child but he was pronounced dead at 5:48 p.m., Valencia said.
The Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office identified the boy as Aeon Tocchini.
A chaplain was called in to comfort the family.
A medical examiner will perform an autopsy, but the Sheriff's Office said the death was consistent with the circumstances.
