Rohnert Park Man Accused Of DUI In Petaluma Hit-And-Run Crash: PD

The 26-year-old was booked into Sonoma County jail, with his bail set at $100,000, according to Petaluma police.

PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma police arrested a Rohnert Park man Thursday on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run. Police responded around 4 p.m. to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Saint Francis Drive and San Juan Way. One driver ran from the scene and the other suffered minor injuries and was treated and released, police Cpl. Chris Ricci said.

Police searched for the missing driver and were informed by the dispatch center that a man was seen jumping over fences. Matthew Phillips, 26, of Rohnert Park, was found a short distance from the collision, Ricci said.

Phillips admitted he was the driver of one of the vehicles and that he fled because he was afraid, Ricci said.
