PETALUMA, CA — The Petaluma Police Department published surveillance images Thursday of a man and a woman sought in connection with a grand theft last week from a local hardware store.

Staff at Friedman's Home Improvement Center, 429 N. McDowell Blvd., reported the theft to the police department at 5:51 p.m. March 14. An investigation showed the suspects as an unidentified white male adult and an unidentified white female adult.

The pair walked into the store, selected four large spools of copper wire, and then walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise, police said.

Once outside the store, the suspects got into a maroon-colored sedan and left the area.

The monetary loss to the store was calculated at around $1,100.

The pair are wanted on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary, Petaluma police Sgt. Zilverio Rivera said.

"We are requesting assistance from the community in identifying them," Rivera said. "If anyone has any information that may assist with identifying the suspects or develop leads in the investigation, we encourage you to contact Officer Cody Giles at 707-781-1250 or at cgiles@cityofpetaluma.org."
