PETALUMA, CA — Petaluma police arrested a Santa Rosa man early Wednesday on suspicion of possessing a stolen truck and being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm and ammunition, a police sergeant said. Officers stopped a Ford F-150 truck on northbound U.S. Highway 101 at Old Redwood Highway around 12:05 a.m., Sgt. Nick McGowan said.
The truck was reported stolen and officers found a loaded Sig Sauer P220 handgun between the driver's seat and center passenger seat. The gun was concealed but easily accessible, McGowan said.
The driver and sole occupant of the truck, Manuel Deleon Garcia, 28, of Santa Rosa, was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
