Hazmat Situation Near Petaluma Prompts Shelter-In-Place Advisory
Sheriff's officials said a situation with three 55-gallon barrels of an unknown substance precipitated the advisory Tuesday night.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A hazmat situation in unincorporated Sonoma County that resulted
in a shelter-in-place advisory to be issued for a period of time Tuesday night has been cleared, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's officials said a situation with three 55-gallon barrels of an unknown substance precipitated the advisory just after 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.
The advisory was issued in the vicinity of Eastman and Stadler lanes near Petaluma.
A sheriff's office dispatcher said early this morning that the advisory was lifted some time last night, but did not specify a time.
