Man Records Woman Jogging In Bay Area, Arrested On Felony Charges: PD

It is alleged that when officers responded, the man sped through a neighborhood at 75 mph, endangering the public.

PETALUMA, CA — A man was recently caught recording a woman while she was jogging in Petaluma, police said.

Officers were sent to 4th and D streets around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, to investigate a report of a man in a black pick-up truck following the woman.

The truck was described as an early-2000s black Ford F-150 with a back middle window open and the driver was described as an adult white male — later identified as 42-year-old Jarrod Allen McQueen, police said.

It is alleged that when officers located the truck and initiated a traffic stop, McQueen failed to yield. Instead, he sped through a residential area exceeding 75 mph without regard for public safety, police said.

Because of McQueen’s reckless driving and the safety risk to the public, officers ended the pursuit, police said.

A short time later, they found McQueen and initiated a second stop during which he was taken into custody without further incident.

An investigation revealed McQueen followed and covertly recorded the woman as she was jogging, police said.

It is alleged the investigation also revealed McQueen was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

McQueen was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of reckless driving, felony evading a police officer with wanton disregard for safety, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

McQueen remained behind bars late Monday with his bail set at $500,000, jail records showed.

He has also been charged with a second DUI offense within 10 years of a prior DUI conviction.
