Petaluma Fire Captain To Retire After 33 Years Of Service

Captain Martin McCarville​ will retire from the Petaluma Fire Department on Friday, Dec. 17.

PETALUMA, CA — A first responder who's dedicated much of his life to serving the Petaluma community has accepted a new assignment: retirement.

After 33 years in the fire service industry, Captain Martin McCarville will retire from the Petaluma Fire Department on Friday, Dec. 17.

His friends over at the Petaluma Police Department took to Facebook to wish his well on his new adventure.

"Please know that it has been a privilege and an honor for our staff to work along side you," the Petaluma Police Department posted to its official Facebook page. "We are proud of our multi-agency teamwork and the increased safety we bring to our city as the Petaluma PD and Petaluma FD respond to the emergency needs of this community 24/7."

McCarville began his career in the fire service industry in 1989.

He came to the Petaluma Fire Department in 2004 where he worked as a firefighter for several years before his promotion to captain.
